The Maryland Business Roundtable is an agreement between several companies that believe it is essential to have working professionals give back to the community. This organization started The Maryland Scholars Speakers Bureau which allows working professionals access to elementary, middle and high school class rooms. The goal of these talks is to encourage the students to take their education seriously and do activities to help them see just how much of an impact having an education can have on their lives post high school graduation.
On this visit, I visited Ms. Foster’s lass at Digital Harbor High School in South Baltimore City. Ms. Foster’s class was very receptive of me and my story of why education is important. I simply told them that we have no idea where our lives are going to take us. It is up to us to prepare ourselves as much as possible to be equipped to handle whatever is in store for us and the best way to do that is through education.
