“The Real” is a lecture series created by Pastor Jenkins of First Baptist of Glenarden, to have “real” conversation about the things that are troubling young men in today’s society. This lecture series will tour high schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The inaugural lecture series was hosted at Dr. Henry Wise, Jr. High School which was attended by 300 ninth and tenth grade young men. The panelist for the lecture series were retired NBA Veteran Etan Thomas, NFL Veteran Lee Bodden, Robert Griffin, II who is the father of The Washington Redskins starting Quarterback Robert Griffin, III and Tipper. All 300 young men were given T-shirts that stated “I Matter” to set the tone of the conversation.
