Tipper was featured as a panelist on the Men’s life Class : Overcoming Obstacles Fatherhood Celebrity Panel Discussion that was moderated by Bishop Walter Scott Thomas.

This event was a joint event by Tipper and his cousin, NBA Veteran Etan Thomas. Etan has been touring the country speaking to audiences about fatherhood and the issues that young kids face with growing up in a single parent, usually fatherless, homes. Growing up in a fatherless home is an obstacle that many of today’s youth have to overcome and deal with as they grow up. Etan has written a book called “Fatherhood : Rising to the Ultimate Challenge” which features essays from athletes and celebrities who grow up with or without a father in their lives. For the children who are growing up without a father, this book is a memoir to kids that despite society saying that you’re more likely to end up in jail and unsuccessful because you come from a single parent home that here are famous people who did become successful. Tipper was able to share is experiences with his father and his step father growing up and offered a unique prospective to the panel.

The event also featured NBA Veteran Juan Dixon, Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Torrey Smith, Poets/Author MK Asante, Lamar Hill and Archie The Messengar and others. The event was hosted at Tipper’s Church New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.
