William J. Thomas
William J. Thomas, also known to many as William “Tipper” Thomas, is an alumnus of Randallstown High School, “Class of 2004.” He is currently a student at Morgan State University in the Electrical Engineering Program focusing on statistics and dynamics; strength of materials; thermodynamics; materials and devices; MATLAB; electric circuits; and electronic circuits. While at Morgan State University, William has received the “Outstanding Morgan Man of the Year Award 2007,” and awards for AMIE (Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering) tutorial program for two years. William is an esteemed member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. He was appointed as one of the first two Collegiate Members At Large to the International General Board of Sigma. He received the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated Presidential “Power of One” Award for 2009.

William has an extensive background and professional experience in business management and client relations. He is skilled in building long-term relationships with all levels of personnel and clientele. William is also an advocate against youth violence and an active community service leader with a desire to reach out to the community on many different levels.

Some of William’s community outreach efforts include: volunteering to feed needy families on Thanksgiving; donating toys for tots for the Angel Tree Program; being a motivational speaker; and participating in Lupus and Breast Cancer walks. He has also been featured on: The Discovery Health Channel’s “The Critical Hour: Too Young To Let Go;” The Dr. David Blow’s “Third Watch” documentary highlighting the significance of Black Greeks; The Larry Young Morning Radio Show; The 92Q Radio Station’s “Be the Change” segment as a featured panelist on youth violence.

William has received numerous awards and citations such as: The Maryland House of Delegates House Resolution Certificate, 7/04; The Maryland House of Delegates Official Citation Award, 1/05; The Baltimore County Superintendent’s Proclamation, 6/04; and The Randallstown High School Principal’s Inspiration Award, 5/04.

William, is currently the Program Director and Co-Founder of the T.I.P.P.E.R. Foundation, Inc., which stands for Traumatic Inpatient Parent Provider Emergency Reserve. The T.I.P.P.E.R. Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization developed as a result of William, an innocent bystander, being a victim of a violent shooting incident at Randallstown High School in 2004. The mission of the T.I.P.P.E.R. Foundation, Inc. is to provide a wide variety of comprehensive services for the caretakers of victims inflicted by life changing events, more specifically, physical injury.
